Coffee Talk: "Choosing Quality Children's Literature"

Date
-
Location
Online via Zoom. A zoom link will be provided in the Friday Bing Bulletin.

We all hear "reading to your children from a young age is important" but what does that really mean? Why is reading aloud and having access to quality children's books important and how does it help in young children's development? How do we evaluate what 'quality' means when we try to choose books online, in a library or in a bookstore? How can adults look for books that will engage children and that also invites them into early or independent reading? Are there 'right books' and 'not right books' out there? Bing's children's librarian Mischa Rosenberg will address these kinds of questions, as well as share books and book lists to get you started. Please bring your questions and your own children's book recommendations to share in the discussion!

Hosted by Teacher Mischa Rosenberg, Bing Nursery School’s Children’s Librarian.
