Educator Seminar: "Lively Minds at Play: Supporting Intellectual Engagement in Early Childhood"

Hosted by Bing Educators Adrienne Lomangino and Emma Vallarino.
The session will focus on the importance of fostering children's intellectual growth and dispositions by engaging their “lively minds” (Katz, 2015). The presenters will explore play as an ideal context for stimulating children's thinking and promoting intellectual engagement. Throughout the session, participants will reflect on what it means for children to have "lively minds," how play fosters intrinsic motivation and intellectual engagement, and how knowledge and skill-building can be integrated into play. Please note, this session was part of the in-person summer session in 2024.
