Have you ever wondered how to help your child be less nervous about visiting the doctor? Or perhaps wondered about how to talk to your child about a seriously ill loved one? Child Life Specialists work to minimize fear and trauma for children in the medical setting by using toys, books and other tools to help children understand what is happening to them and give them opportunities to express feelings and emotions. We’ll cover how children (and parents!) can increase their ability to cope with medical visits and tough conversations. Parents will also be able to preview a variety of books that help explain life transitions to young children.

Hosted by Bing parent Michelle Hug,M.A., Certified Child Life Specialist, Lucile Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford and Kaiser Hospital in Santa Clara
