Peanut Allergy Notice
Bing is a Nut-Free School
No peanut or nut products are allowed at Bing Nursery School
Children enrolled in the Bing Nursery School program have a life-threatening allergy to peanuts. Therefore, no nuts, peanuts, or peanut products are allowed in the school.
Please do not send:
- Peanut butter sandwiches
- Loose nuts
- Peanut butter cookies
- Granola bars or other processed foods
- Any foods containing peanut oils
We request that you check the labels of all foods before sending them to school. Please talk with the Head Teacher about any cooking projects or special treats for birthdays or other celebrations.

Ingredients to Avoid
How to Read a Label for a Peanut-Free Diet
Avoid foods that contain any of these ingredients:
- cold pressed, expelled, or expressed peanut oil
- ground nuts
- mixed nuts
- Nu-Nuts® flavored nuts
- peanut
- peanut butter
- peanut flour
- Foods that may indicate the presence of peanut protein:
- African, Chinese and Thai dishes
- baked goods (pastries, cookies, etc.)
- candy
- chili
- chocolate(candies, candy bars)
- egg rolls
- hydrolyzed plant protein
- hydrolyzed vegetable protein (can use canola or olive oil)
- marzipan
- nougat
How to Read a Label for a Tree-Nut Free Diet
- Avoid food that contain nuts or any of these ingredients:
- almonds
- Brazil nuts
- cashews
- chestnuts
- filbert/hazelnuts*
- gianduja (a creamy mixture of chocolate and chopped toasted nuts found in premium or imported chocolate)
- hickory nuts
- macadamia nuts
- marzipan/almond paste
- nougat
- Nu-Nuts®artificial nuts
- nut butters e.g. cashew butter
- nut oil
- nut paste e.g. almond paste
- pecans
- pine nuts(pinyon nuts)
- pistachios
walnuts
*Filberts are also hazelnuts
Additional Cautions
- Peanuts are very allergenic and can cause a life-threatening anaphylactic (general body) reaction. If you are allergic to peanuts, talk to your doctor. If prescribed, carry an EpiPen® or Ana Guard® at all times.
- Avoid natural extracts e.g. pure almond extract. Use imitation or artificially flavored extracts
- Artificial nuts can be peanuts that have been deflavored and reflavored with a nut such as pecan or walnut.
- Studies show that most allergic individuals can safely eat peanut oil (not- cold-pressed peanut oil)
