Peanut Allergy Notice
Bing classrooms are nut-free. This document provides information about nut allergies and foods to avoid bringing to the classroom due to peanut and tree nut allergies.
Air Quality Guidelines
While being outside and keeping windows open is recommended to reduce virus transmission, following these guidelines becomes problematic in the event of poor air quality. When the outdoor air quality degrades enough to be unsafe, the need to protect our lungs by coming inside and limiting outdoor air flow directly conflicts with the COVID-19 guidelines for ventilation and physical distancing. The school will take the following actions to protect the health and safety of children and staff.
When the U.S. Air Quality Index (AQI) reaches 100, at the threshold of being considered “unhealthy for sensitive groups,” we will begin monitoring conditions and use the indoor environment in small groups with the air conditioning and filtering system. Doors and windows need to remain open to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission. We will also keep minimally using the outdoors.
When the AQI reaches 120, we will ask parents to assess their child's health situation. Parents can then decide whether it is advisable to pick up their children or refrain from coming to school due to existing conditions (asthma, etc.) that make them more vulnerable.
When the AQI reaches 150 and over, a level considered “unhealthy” for everyone, we will close the school, and send a "One-Call Now " notice to inform parents. Children will need to be picked up at that time. If the AQI is at 150 before school opens, it will remain closed for the day.
Parents are most attuned to their children and knowledgeable about their children’s health and sensitivities. We recognize that parents may make individual decisions to keep their child at home due to air quality. Information about the U.S. Air Quality Index for the Bing Nursery School vicinity can be found at the AirNow website.
Parent and Caregiver ID Photos
For Bing internal use and security purposes, Bing Nursery School collects photos (passport size style) of parent/guardians, and additional caregivers authorized to pick up your child (up to 4 additional adults) to add to our internal database.
Please email us at bingschool [at] stanford.edu (bingschool[at]stanford[dot]edu) an individual headshot (passport size style) for each authorized adult (portrait orientation), and include name, relationship to child, phone number, your child’s name and classroom. (Please do not send family photos, only individual photos. Thank you.) The information you provide must match the info you have provided on your child's Emergency Card – your Emergency Card is the authoritative document.
If any changes occur in the future, please update your info by (a) updating your child's Emergency Card in your classroom, and (b) emailing bingschool [at] stanford.edu (bingschool[at]stanford[dot]edu )any updated parents/caregiver photos and contact information.
Entry to Facilities
The school is secured by a code. You will receive this code during parent orientation or your gradual entry day. The code is available to authorized caregivers at the front office.
